Create your first 72-hour puppy plan

This tool is rule-based and conservative. It is a planning aid for healthy puppies, not a diagnosis or a replacement for your veterinarian.

Younger puppies need shorter wake windows and more frequent potty breaks.
This changes whether the plan starts with preparation, arrival, or reset.
Apartment and shared homes need faster logistics and quieter management.
Mixed methods can work, but the first 3 days need clear rules.
For most new puppies, nearby is easier than isolated for the first nights.
Long absences require a confinement and midday help plan.
The result adds a focused mini-protocol for this issue.
Used to build morning and night break guidance.
If vaccines are incomplete or unknown, avoid high dog-traffic ground until your vet clears it.
Longer rides need a cleanup pouch and a calmer arrival plan.

  • Refusing food plus weakness, repeated vomiting or diarrhea, or signs of dehydration.
  • Known toxin ingestion such as chocolate, xylitol, grapes or raisins, medication, rat poison, or unknown chemicals.
  • Breathing difficulty, pale or grey gums, seizures, a swollen painful belly, or crying in pain.
